So I was talking to my brother yesterday and he brought up an interesting point that low carb diets like *ahem* keto can wreak havoc on the body in the long term such as kidney damage and higher risk of cancer. So I looked into it and it has a kernel of truth. Basically you actually can get kidney stones BUT if you eat an unbalanced diet even on keto. By that I mean eating copious amounts of almond flour, almonds themselves and raw spinach. They contain a concentrated amounts of oxalates which absolutely speeds up kidney stone formation. My response to that is that there is a shitty way of eating in EVERY diet. There's junk regular food, junk vegan food, junk paleo and yes even junk keto food. People seem to only concentrate on the negatives.
For example, a person eating an unbalanced keto diet could be like eating a shit ton of bacon and raw cheese. Well, duh a person eating a lot of bacon will be problematic (not to mention constipation eating an overload of cheese at once) BUT a person eating an actual balanced keto diet with be like eating grilled chicken and steamed brussel sprouts...which is fucking YUM! Keyword is: balanced.
There is a right and way and a wrong way. I am somewhere in between. Still calibrating it myself. I've been eating the same breakfast for 2 days now because I simply love avocado and making that over easy egg takes less than 5 min.
Exercises I did today:
-8 Minute Warm Up @Yes2Next My second time back with this mother/daughter fitness channel. This warm up is not only great for seniors like her mother but great for beginners or chair bound or the injured who can't do too strenuous warm ups.
-35 Minute - Day 5 "Full Body Workout" of the 10-20-5 Method @Grow With Jo Context implies this will no longer be free to us normies after this week according to her YouTube community posts but her subscription is $4.99/month with a 30 Day Free Trial. I personally liked this one. Glad it's over though because I am NOT used to Jo talking so much. On Monday - April 1, 2024 I will start an 8 Week Challenge from Fitness Blender. -15 Minute Post Work Out Stretch @Kaleigh Cohen Strength Back 2 Kaleigh because I need that deep stretch bruh. I am considering even doing her actual workouts next week.
-60 minutes mowing the lawn! It's fucking mowing season. I dread it the most since I do 90% of the mowing since I'm the stay at home spouse. I lowkey like it for more that extra calorie burn but still...it fucking sucks. It usually takes me 40 minutes max but I jumped into this after exercising. Blehhhhh.
